Every charging test conducted by Donut Lab, including a cell at 11C in a Finnish lab, the same cell at 5C, a full motorcycle pack at a public charger, and the Lucid Gravity, has been overlaid on a single chart. The Verge TS Pro achieves a charging rate of 5.7C with air cooling, nearly doubling the highest charging rate of any liquid-cooled production car currently available. However, the shape of this charge curve reveals an unintended narrative: three distinct authors contributed to three separate sections, and only one of them addresses the battery. We delve into the physics of fast charging, explain the significance of “heat squared” at 5C and 11C, clarify why the abrupt drop at 46% is a thermometer crossing a threshold rather than an electrochemical limit, and speculate on the potential chemistry of a Lucid-sized battery pack. After conducting four tests, we present the verified findings, the areas still under investigation, and the insights gained from the charge curve regarding the battery’s superior performance compared to its cooling system.
