The world’s largest, most powerful telescope was launched into space on Christmas Day - it’s called the 'James Webb Space Telescope' but how do you test a spacecraft to make sure it's ready for the journey into space? I went to the UK's National Space Laboratory (RAL Space) to find out!
RAL Space is where part of 'Webb' was put together and tested and I was lucky enough to see 3 different tests that all spacecraft & payloads have to go through before they leave our atmosphere!
** I made another video about the James Webb Telescope and a special camera onboard it called MIRI! Give it a watch to find out how Webb will discover distant galaxies! https://youtu.be/3rhFYTSv0Dw
** This video was part of a MASSIVE Family Live Show hosted by Greg Foot on his YouTube channel. To watch it please visit: https://youtu.be/GYdtoTNqVyI
A huge thank you to Greg Foot for producing&directing, to Mandy Celine for filming&editing to RAL Space for welcoming us along to film not one but two YouTube videos!
Additional thanks go to...
- STFC - the Science and Technology Facilities Council
- the Webb UK Team
- AND to the UK Space Agency
