For nearly two decades, the best engineers and scientists commissioned by Nasa, Esa and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) built the biggest and best space telescope ever. On December 25, 2021, the James Webb Telescope began its journey into orbit about 1.6 million kilometers from Earth. Never before have we humans placed a telescope so deep in space. Webb was already blowing away anything that had ever been done before during its construction. The technology, with 18 gold-plated, honeycomb mirrors, is a complete revolution in the field of telescope technology. Webb's mission got off to a brilliant start in the summer of 2022! Already the first images were overwhelming and since then the huge fan community waits for every new image of the super telescope.
