Cosmic Cliffs ● In NGC 3324, the 'Cosmic Cliffs' are located ● This star cluster is about 7,600 light-years away from Earth ● 4. Alien atmospheres ● A technique called transmission spectroscopy is used to detect the atmospheres of exoplanets ● The first exoplanet result released by JWST is the transmission spectrum of WASP-39b ● It's a "hot Jupiter" exoplanet orbiting a Sun-like star 700 light-years away ● JWST detected carbon dioxide in WASP-39b's atmosphere ● 5.
