Scientists Developed A New Method to Detect Exoplanet Atmospheres with NASA's James Webb

The James Webb Space Telescope has been shown to be capable of studying the atmospheres of extrasolar planets orbiting nearby white dwarf stars by a team of scientists funded by NASA. The team came up with a novel strategy that expands on a tried and true method called the IR excess method and would make use of Webb's Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI).
