The United States has designated The Resistance Front (TRF) as a terror group by labelling them a foreign terrorist organisation and a specially-designated global terrorist. India welcomed this move in a statement which read as, "The designation of TRF is a timely and important step reflecting the deep cooperation between India and the United States on counter-terrorism". TRF had initially claimed the credit for the deadly Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Though they later revoked their statement. The U.S. has acknowledged TRF as a proxy of another designated terror organisation LeT. This move might help India in getting Pakistan blacklisted by FATF. Palki Sharma tells you more.
