The war in Ukraine and a heatwave in India have restricted the global supply of wheat, a staple food around the world. Russia and Ukraine export millions of tons of wheat annually, mostly to the Middle East and Africa. India has banned exports of wheat as the country contends with a devastated crop from a heatwave in May.
