James Webb Space Telescope's Search For Alien Life EXPLAINED..

Welcome back to Tech Centric, today on this channel we are going to talk about “ James Webb Space Telescope could search for 'laughing gas' to find alien life + Broccoli emits gas that could signal presence of alien life” The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) should be looking for nitrous oxide (N2O) — more commonly known as laughing gas — in astronomers' search for biosignatures in the atmospheres of exoplanets, according to new research. "There's been a lot of thought put into oxygen and methane as biosignatures," said lead author Eddie Schwieterman of the University of California, Riverside, in a statement. "Fewer researchers have seriously considered nitrous oxide, but we think that may be a mistake."

Alien broccoli? Not exactly. There is now another potential biosignature that could reveal signs of life on far-off worlds. Methylation is a process used by broccoli, algae and many other plants and microbes on Earth to purge toxins by morphing them into gases. These same gases, if present in the atmospheres of exoplanets, could potentially be detected by instruments such as those aboard the James Webb Space Telescope.
